The new philosophy of cosmetics, committed to the wellbeing of the skin and to the quality of life, are the plant stem cells. In fact, it has long been known that some self-defense substances produced by plant tissues have positive effects on the regeneration of animal skin tissues.
The most classic example are the phytostimulins, obtained from wheat germ extracts, which facilitate the healing of wounds.
Now, however, this awareness seems to have found a fertile ground for research and trials in the cosmetic field: nowadays we are increasingly looking for a beauty that knows how to combine nature and well-being. Thus began the adventure of plant stems in cosmetics.
They are selected from plants that have remarkable resistance and self-repair characteristics, in drastic situations, such as excessive cold, lack of water or external agents in general. In particular, cells that come from the terminal part of the root are used.
The substances they are rich in are very powerful antioxidants and act on the extracellular matrix of the dermis, the deepest part of the epidermis. They give support, elasticity and turgidity to the skin, which in turn is able to counteract the signs of aging and repair the superficial alterations on its own.
